SELLER'S NOTES
My beloved 1968 VW Westfalia T2 imported from California is now for sale. I have enjoyed x3 years of happy ownership, but circumstances dictate she needs a new home. Just two owners prior to me, having spent most of its life in sunny California. It is always garaged and benefits from a tasteful and reliable Subaru engine conversion. The vehicle specifics are as follows: Exterior: *Full bare metal respray in pearl white L87.(2014) It's not a trailer queen but to a very very good standard. *Stainless nut and bolt kit. *Delux trim. *Stainless NOT chrome; bumpers, headlight rings, wiper blades. *All new seals- windows, doors, pop top-throughout. *Original yanky 110v hook up point. For visuals only. *Indicator to reverse light holder modification. *Period Hella lamp for reverse light. *LED brake bulds, even light and brighter. Interior: *New canvas: Made by BusOK, light tan colour, opens fully to access roof rack at the back and has fly screens on all sides. *New furniture: Professionally constructed with lightweight birch frames, real oak fascias and Formica brand veneer. *Upholstery: All new, a combination of Vinyl and Leather (matched). I think the pictures detail this better than I could. *Dash: Body coloured, Plastic mouldings matched to the leather. *Grant steering wheel. Bespoke boss to fit. wood and stainless. *Original VW radio. *Waeco CR50 compression fridge. As new condition. *Smev 3 ring burner. Very little use. *Long stem 68 only rear view mirror. *Real parking permit stickers in the rear window from early 70's. *Wolfsburg items: Gear knob, Seat belts, Lock knobs, Cigarette lighter. *Additional/non standard chrome: Gear stick, Ash tray, demist vents, handbrake handle. Power: *240 hook up. Connects in engine bay, double socket in van. *Durite voltage sensing split charge. *110AH leisure battery. *USB points and volt gauge in van. Engine, Transmission, running gear etc... *Subaru EJ20 2.0 16v N/A. Professional conversion carried out by TSR Conversions, a leading specialist in exactly that (google them). A full engineers report and submission to the DVLA, Hence log book states correct engine size and numbers etc. Doner engine from a Legacy was fully stripped, refurbished and ran in for 500 miles 'as new'- at which point oil and filters were changed. Faultless. not missed a beat since 2018. *Freeway Flier gearbox. Giving 'taller' ratio for lower revs at higher speeds. A common choice in the VW world for the not standard engine. *CSP Disc converion (front). Better braking (the 68 was originally drums all round). These are currently running EBC green stuff pads. *Brake Servo. Again, not original to the 68. *Evans lifetime coolant system. Large cooling radiator with dual speed fan underslung, Also external oil cooler. Temp can be monitored from cab. *3 inch lowered beam up front and Transporterhaus adjustable spring plates to rear. *Spax adustable Kripton shock absorbers all round. *Empi 5 wheels. 15 inch, Chrome (some slight pitting) 5 wheels with good Bridgestone tyres. Locking nuts. *Electric blown air heater from the Subaru. Fitted to original heater ducting. 3 speed and toasty! Looks stock. Since my ownership the vehicle has had the head gasket done courtesy of Subaru specialists, 'Pole Position'. It has also benefited from a full service. That covers most of it! Further pictures of the vehicle are available upon request.
