It’s with a heavy heart that ‘Thelma’, our 1971 VW Early Bay, is up for sale! We have owned Thelma for 23 years and she has given us so many fabulous memories and trouble free holidays.   When we found her in 2000 she was brown and gold and had been in a neighbours garage for 14 years on bricks. We bought her and gave her a rebuild and a fresh lick of paint in yellow lower and white upper. In 2009 she had complete resto and a respray in her current colour, Beryl Green. She is now at the stage where she could do with a little TLC as a few rust bubbles are showing. Underneath she is pretty solid with the original belly pans still fitted but she needs a small patch sorted out on one of her sills. The bottom of the passenger door could also do with the lower replacing/patching. Mechanically, she is brilliant! Always starts and runs beautifully, regularly driving us down to Croyde for that impromptu night away camping. She had a replacement engine fitted in 2015, new lowered front beam from Creative Engineering in 2018. She has been looked after and serviced by the same garage, Poole Garage in Magor, since the 70’s! Delilah Furnishings interior with a full width Rusty Lee Rock’n’roll bed. New curtains fitted this year. Leisure battery. Full length Creative Engineering roof rack. Tow bar with electrics recently fitted. Genuine Deluxe trim from the States.
