We are pleased to present this 1973 Volkswagen Bay Window Single Cab, imported from South Africa.
The interior of this Volkswagen is basic, as designed by VW for commercial use. The driver’s seat is not original but can be re-installed if desired. The passenger seat is the standard 2/3 seat with its original cover. All seats are equipped with seat belts. The door cards feature a unique mural design inspired by Salvador Dali; however, they can be replaced with original ones if preferred.
Quarter light openers have been installed on both cab doors, and a full carpet set has been fitted.
The exterior is in solid condition, though the front panel has been modified from a late bay window model, retaining the high indicator lens recess in addition to the functional low-level indicators. Additionally, the single cab is equipped with a two-bow roof rack.
The pickup bed is in solid condition, displaying only surface rust. While the side and tail gates are not original to the vehicle, the installed gates are in keeping with its aesthetic. Additionally, the lockable treasure chest, located at the side of the pickup, has been fitted with LED lighting to ensure clear visibility.
Standard wheels and commercial hubcaps are fitted to the standard suspension, contributing to an exceptionally comfortable ride quality.
Substantial work on the engine has been carried out by the specialist team at Absolute VW, with accompanying documentation.
